We have been taught to measure style by quantity — the fuller the wardrobe, the better dressed. But the most elegant people we know tend to own remarkably little, and wear it remarkably well.
The true cost of more
Every garment carries a cost beyond its price: the water, the labour, the landfill. Buying less, and choosing better, is the quietest way to lighten that load — and it happens to look wonderful.
Buy less, choose well, make it last. The old advice is still the best advice.
A single well-made coat, worn for a decade, outshines a closet of forgotten impulse buys. Invest in the pieces you reach for daily, and let them earn their keep.
Begin with one
You needn’t overhaul everything at once. Replace one tired piece with one considered one, and repeat. Slowly, a wardrobe of intention takes shape.
